Georgia's Olympic Committee is demanding a correction from London Olympics organizers over the listing of two Georgia-born athletes as being from "Russia" on official Olympics materials.

The official London 2012 website (london2012.com) lists the male wrestlers as on the Russian Olympic team.

The website says Besik Kudukhov’s birthplace was in "South Ossetia (RUS)," while Denis Tsargush’s birthplace is shown as "Gudauta (RUS)."

South Ossetia is a separatist region of Georgia, while Gudauta is in another separatist region, Abkhazia.

Moscow recognized both South Ossetia and Abkhazia as "independent" countries after the 2008 war between Russia and Georgia.

Russia has also provided residents of the two places with Russian passports.

Georgia's government and nearly all of the rest of the world consider both regions to be still part of Georgia.

US-propped rump dictatorship of Saakashvilli still lives in a dream world of "greater Georgia". The rump dictatorship is unable to comprehend the simple fact that none of the North Caucasus people want to be part of the pitiful US-propped up model NATO minion

What's your name, Jack? :) And where are you from? Say it. Be a man. I mean real man, not a virtual one.

my mother is Chechen and my father was Russian soldier. My father killed my uncles in 1995 and then he married by mother. My mother is now Christian. She saw the light. She saw the evil of Islam and became True Christian. Wahhabism is the most retarded form of Islam.

Interesting fact, Chechens are mostly very recent converts to Islam, until the mid 19th century the majority of Chechens were actually Orthodox Christians, but the brutality of the Russian invasion pushed them into the arms of the Turks and Persians, who of course, demanded conversion in exchange for assistance.

BTW Jack, you write more like an Armenian than a Russo-Chechen. And why do you always say "homophobic RFE/RL staffer" are you gay? If so then worry not, REF/RL is not homophobic, unlike, for example, Russian media.

North and South Ossetia are the one country. Ossetian people do not want to be part of US-propped rump dictatorship of Georgia which only exists as long as US government bankrolls it using US taxpayers' money. At the end, Ossetians wil unite in one Ossetia.
And model NATO minion rump republic of Georgia will disintegrate even further because none of North Caucasus people want to live in a pitiful fascistic dictatorship of saakashvillis

One of your more ridiculous rants there Jack.
Though not surprising as you are about 17 (father married mother after killing her brothers in 1995....)
The relations between north Caucasians and Georgians, particularly between Chechens and Georgians, are actually pretty good.
Also there are more Ossetians living in Tbilisi than in Tskhinvali , one of my good friends is a doctor at Digomi hospital, she and many of her friends were sent to Tbilisi by their parents from Tskhinvali in order to be able to attend Ossetian language schools, whilst in "South Ossetia" they are forced to learn Russian, not their own language.

This is just a stupid mistake by the website administrators

Athletes who were born in other former Soviet states are also listed as being born in Russia:

http://www.london2012.com/athlete/chicherova-anna-1016765/ EVERAN (RUS)

http://www.london2012.com/athlete/baroev-khasan-1022836/ DUSHANBE (RUS)

They should have just written USSR instead of RUS.

The problem is that even though they put USSR in there, people will still think Russia.

Only imperial resurectors and burning history books
Khrutchevians pretend to think "Russia".
British were part of such pact of 1954-56 with Russia and
Bechtel.

British are also very conservativly staborn:
"The British are Best!"
"Sun never set on British Empire!"

Some go beyound that:
"There are only three Empires, Britain, Russia and
Germano-Austria! The rest is ours!"

Some just craizy or sick:
"I am evil plant Plantagenot! I will kill you and rape your woomen!
I will rape you too, Katrin! France is mine! Everything is mine!"

Well, British people are not bad, but bad habbits die hard...
