Near the famed golden triangle where Laos, Thailand and Burma meet, a Chinese company plans to turn huge tracts of jungle and farmland once associated with the opium trade into a tourism magnet. The company, Kings Romans, says it is building a new economy, anchored in part by a glittering new casino. VOA's Daniel Schearf reports from Bokeo, Laos.

    the chinese decide to build a casino right in the heart of the golden triangle  in one of the poorest and least developed country in south east asia where the average laotian makes 2 dollars a day GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH THAT BS . This casino is just a front for chinese mafia to smuggle drugs through laos a boat with 1.6mill worth of methamphetamine's headed for the casino already got busted. stupid chinks take your casino some place else we don't want it!

    the worse of history of Lao Lanxang.Every generation our king was

    putting their life in the front of any war,to protect the land and the

    people.Nowaday,LAO PDR sale the land to chinese and

    That Burmese worker at the end is just funny. He was a farmer in Burma, but he chose to take a job in the Chinese casino zone. Now, he complains about it because of "less freedom" and "it is the only employer here". Well, this is the Golden Triangle buddy, and you should know as well as I do that the pickings are pretty thin. So quit complaining and just be glad you have a dignified job close to your home.

    BTW, if you don't like it, go back to farming in Burma.
