On today’s show, President of the Coalition of African American Pastors Rev. Bill Owens had harsh words for President Obama over his new stance on gay marriage. The reverend promised Obama’s black supporters would abandon him, saying “he has disappointed us, and now we will not give him a pass because he’s black”.

Rev. Owens denied that the civil rights movement was comparable to the gay rights movement, saying “We were denied the dignity of another person and to have the American Dream… [t]hey enjoy the privileges that we were fighting for”. Rev. Owens also claimed President Bush gave him more respect than President Obama, saying “There were many things we disagreed with President Bush on but he did give us the respect to hear us and not only hear us but act on many of those requests”.
